Director of Billing

Primary Responsibilities

  • Billing Process Management duties (planning and leading billing operations for company, overseeing month-end procedures of the billing department, assessing and making recommendations to improve operational workflow of the Billing, coordinating with the Onboarding department, providing support to the Client Account Managers, Credentialing and Coding, developing, presenting and utilizing revenue reports as needed, ensuring the department is appropriately staffed)
  • Staff Management duties (staff management, staff training planning/management, performance reviews, career pathing)
  • Administration duties (developing, implementing and managing all relevant department  protocols, policies and procedures, scheduling and chairing meetings, interdepartmental communications, daily work assignment, workflow and resource planning)
  • Professional Development duties (staying current with all relevant knowledge understanding and skills required for the job, attending skill building workshops, doing own performance review)

Skills / Qualifications

  • Proven experience in successfully managing people while maintaining high performance and effectively dealing with identified non-performance
  • Must be an effective and disciplined self-manager
  • The ability to manage daily change in workload demands and priorities
  • Proven competent communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal relationship building skills

  • Intermediate level Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7 or higher
  • Demonstrated Project Management skills
  • Firm mathematical aptitude
  • Proven ability to analyze and document business processes
  • Proven ability to solve problems and make decisions
  • Proven adeptness at handling different tasks with different priorities simultaneously
  • Proven ability to grow and encourage a team with aligned and coordinated teamwork
  • Required manual dexterity for using a calculator, computer keyboard and capturing information in writing

Education/Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in Revenue Cycle Management
  • Minimum 2- years of experience in managing people and teams
  • Basic understanding of EHR systems is a plus
  • Mature experience in developing and presenting revenue reports
