“Donuts for Doctors” Adds a Sweet Touch to Doctors’ Long, Hard Days

Fellow Health Partners executives personally deliver 4000+ “pint-sized” doughnuts to honor physicians at 100+ locations in the Tri-State area

Great River, NY – April 1, 2021 – Fanning out from their Great River headquarters in the early dawn, their vehicles loaded with pint-sized, grab-and-go doughnuts, executives from Fellow Health Partners honored physicians with Donuts for Doctors on National Doctors’ Day.

As CEO Michael N. Brown said, “Our goal was to cast a wide net of small doughnuts across the Tri-States, bringing a ‘sweet break’ into the long, often hard days experienced by many doctors. We chose little doughnuts so the doctors could eat them in a couple of bites.” Smiling, he added, “They were so tasty that we weren’t surprised when many doctors took more than one.”

The teams traveled from South Hampton to Manhattan and from Connecticut to the Jersey Shore, delivering their “sweet treats” to standalone facilities such as Brooklyn Surgery Center, to private practices, and to large networks like Northwell, NY Presbyterian, Catholic Health Services and the Hospital for Special Surgery.

Sue Emptage, Fellow Health Partners’ Client Relations lead adds, “We phoned ahead to make sure we would be able to deliver to facilities and practices during these cautious Covid times, and at one hospital we were greeted outside by over twenty doctors and staffers who personally thanked us for thinking about them – and for bringing along what they called ‘guilt free’ doughnuts because they were so small. It was quite a surprise.”

During the busy delivery day, Fellow Health Partners was awarded a Certification of Recognition by Angie Carpenter, Supervisor for the Town of Islip, for “celebrating our doctors” which prompted Michael N. Brown to say, “Next year we plan to expand delivery to even more doctors. In the meantime, we will celebrate them every day for their tireless contribution to our communities’ health.”
